Former UFC flyweight contenders Jennifer Maia and Jessica Eye will meet inside the octagon at a yet-to-be-announced UFC card on July 10, multiple people with knowledge of the booking told MMA Fighting.
Maia (18-7-1) challenged 125-pound queen Valentina Shevchenko in November 2020, losing via decision, and currently sits at No. 4 in UFC’s official ranking. Maia’s 3-3 UFC record includes wins over Joanne Calderwood and Roxanne Modafferi.
Eye (15-9, 1 no contest) lost decisions to Cynthia Calvillo and Joanne Calderwood in her most recent octagon appearances, going 1-2 in MMA after losing to Shevchenko with a sole victory over Viviane Araujo. During her UFC run, Eye has defeated the likes of Leslie Smith, Katlyn Chookagian and Jessica-Rose Clark.
