Adrian Yanez will need a doctor’s clearance if he hopes to get his wish to compete at UFC 262.

After his third-round KO win over fellow bantamweight Gustavo Lopez at UFC Vegas 22 this past Saturday, Yanez is facing a potential six-month suspension for an injury to his right hand unless cleared by an orthopedic doctor, according to the official list of medical suspensions released by mixedmartialarts.com. If that happens, the Houston native could get what he asked for as his minimum suspension would end April 20.

Five other fighters are also facing potential 180-day layoffs: Montserrat Ruiz (left knee and right shoulder), Cheyanne Buys (right elbow), Harry Hunsucker (left hand and thumb), Trevin Giles (right foot), and Roman Dolidze (right orbital).

Derek Brunson, who earned a unanimous decision win over Kevin Holland in the main event, received a 30-day suspension for a laceration above his right eyebrow. Holland received a 21-day suspension following his first appearance of 2020 after a 5-0 campaign in 2020.
