Top prospect Cody Law books return at Bellator 256, Talita Nogueira also set for the prelims

Bellator MMA

Former Division II National Champion wrestler Cody Law will make his next appearance at Bellator 256 as the top-rated prospect looks to stay undefeated in his mixed martial arts career.

Law will clash with fellow undefeated fighter Nathan Ghareeb in a featherweight fight as part of the preliminary card on April 9 with the show taking place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

Following a brief stint as part of the Penn State wrestling program, Law transferred to the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown where he went onto become a two-time All American at the Division II level and he claimed the National Championship at 157 pounds in his senior season.

After his wrestling career was finished, Law decided to put his full attention on fighting where he also began training with the coaches and athletes at American Top Team in Florida. Since then, Law has gone 2-0 in the Bellator cage with a submission win in his debut and a TKO finish in his most recent appearance.

Now Law will return in April while facing off with Ghareeb, who has earned a pair of first-round knockouts to start his professional career.

Another fight added to the Bellator 256 prelim card will be former title challenger Talita Nogueira returning to action as she faces Jessica Borga in a featherweight matchup.

Nogueira will look to snap a two-fight skid after falling to former Bellator champion Julia Budd and then losing a razor close split decision in her last outing in 2019.

As for Borga, she will attempt to pick up the biggest win of her career after knocking off Amber Leibrock in her Bellator debut back in 2019.

Bellator 256 will be headlined by a pair of fights in the upcoming Light Heavyweight Grand Prix as former champion Ryan Bader faces off with Lyoto Machida while former UFC contender Corey Anderson takes on newcomer Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov with the winners moving onto the semifinal round in the tournament.
