Trevin Giles has a new opponent on March 20.
Multiple people with knowledge of the rebooking told MMA Fighting that Giles (13-2) will now fight Roman Dolidze (8-0) in a middleweight bout at UFC Vegas 22 following the withdrawal of initially Giles’ scheduled opponent, Dricus Du Plessis. The news was first reported by Sherdog.
Du Plessis, a former KSW middleweight champion who hails from South Africa, was removed from the booking due to visa issues.
Giles is currently on a two-fight winning streak, most recently defeating Bevon Lewis by first-round TKO in November. He holds a 4-2 record in his UFC career thus far.
The unbeaten Dolidze has seen his hand raised in both of his UFC appearances after debuting with the promotion in 2020. Dolidze scored a first-round TKO of Khadis Ibragimov in July and closed out the year with a split decision win over John Allan in December.
UFC Vegas 22 takes place at UFC APEX in Las Vegas and is headlined by a middleweight contenders’ bout between Derek Brunson and Kevin Holland.
