James Gallagher senses blood in the water.
Ahead of Gallagher’s matchup with Patchy Mix at Bellator 270 this Friday, the two fighters officially weighed in Thursday morning in Dublin. Gallagher successfully hit the mark at 136 pounds (with the one-pound allowance for non-title fights), but Mix came in at 137.8 pounds, almost two pounds over the limit.
The bout will proceed at a catchweight with Mix forfeiting a percentage of his purse to Gallagher as penalty.
Gallagher was quick to comment on the situation and criticize Mix, writing on Twitter, “He’s already beat. His mind is weak.”

This is the first weight miss for Mix, who fought for a vacant bantamweight title at Bellator 246 in September of last year. At media day earlier this week, Mix said that though he had difficulty making weight for his previous fight against Albert Morales due to a back injury, he did not anticipate there being any issues for Bellator 270.
