Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder 3: Live round-by-round updates

MMA Fighting has Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder 3 live round-by-round updates for one of the top boxing fights of the year. Fury vs. Wilder 3 takes place on Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Tyson Fury, who is the WBC heavyweight champion and has a 30-0-1 career boxing record, will fight for Deontay Wilder for the second straight time and third overall. He defeated Wilder via seventh-round TKO Feb. 22, 2020 in Las Vegas.

Deontay Wilder (42-1-1) suffered his first career loss in his last encounter with Fury. Wilder will reportedly earn $8 million, while Fury will earn $10 million. Both will also get a share of the pay-per-view revenue.

The U.K. and U.S. anthems have been sung and now it’s time for the walkouts.

Looks like there’s a slight delay on the Wilder side. Fury is in his locker room grooving to Sweet Home Alabama.

We’re still waiting, but according to the broadcast there are no major issues in the Wilder locker room.

And here he comes! Wilder first after a spirited video intro by WWE champion Big E. He’s not decked out in armor, but he has an ornate red and silver mask with beads and necklaces around his neck.

Now it’s time for Fury’s walkout, also introduced by Big E. It looks like he’s doing a 300-themed entrance.

You Shook Me All Night Long blasting through the arena as Fury enters the ring.

The introductions are out of the way and now it’s time for Fury and Wilder to throw down.

The referee for this bout is Russell Mora.

Round 1: Wilder immediately throws hard jabs to the body. He’s scoring there. He goes up top and Fury slips out. Wilder very busy in the first 30 seconds. He’s sticking with the body work. Strictly defense from Fury so far. Fury with a couple of quick hooks, then he initiates a clinch. Wilder throws another straight right to the body, then another. Fury backs up into the corner. He lands a left hook, his first good shot of the fight. Fury with a 1-2. Right hand by Fury to close the round.

Round 2: Fury already more active to start the second. He’s scoring from range with long punches. Fury wants to headhunt, but Fury has him scouted. Jab by Fury. Wilder back to jabbing the body. Fury just falls to the ropes to avoid a Wilder right. Dirty boxing in the clinch from both men. Fury advances with a left hook. He gets a body shot in close. Right hand lands for Wilder. More clinching, Mora letting the boxers work out of it.

Round 3: Fury holding center now. Fury active with the jab, but he walks into a Fury counter. Wilder off-balance as he hunts for a KO blow. Mora warns Fury about a headlock. Lunging jab by Fury. Wilder very aggressive with the head strikes now. A right hand grazes Fury’s chin. Stiff jab right to Wilder’s jaw. Wilder telegraphing that right and throwing with intent. Fury with a combination. He hits Wilder with a clean right on the side of the head, Wilder is rocked and leaning on the ropes. He stumbles and hits the mat, that’s a knockdown. Standing 10-count and Wilder says he can continue. Fury right back on the attack, he has Wilder hurt. Two big punches by Fury to close the round.

Round 4: Left hands opens the fourth for Fury. Wilder flicking the jab out but Fury is walking him down. Fury almost lands a KO uppercut out of the clinch. He’s bullying Wilder against the ropes. Wilder’s right is easily blocked. Jab by Fury. Another jab from Fury, Wilder ties him up. Hard right by Fury. Wilder is in trouble. Five-punch combo for Fury. Wilder’s punches coming in slowly now. Wilder with a straight right out of nowhere and Fury is hurt! Down he goes. Standing 10-count and he gets the gloves up. Jab by Wilder and he is throwing bombs now, Fury getting his head out of the way. One gets through and Fury gets dropped again. Another standing 10-count, he gets the gloves up, but the round is over.

Round 5: Fury with a jab, Wilder undeterred goes right back to throwing head shots. Fury connects with a left-right combo and Wilder felt that one. Uppercut by Fury in close, he’s getting the better of the clinch exchanges. Wilder backs Fury up and throws a heavy 1-2, Fury avoiding the worst of it. Fury goes to the body and pushes Wilder to the corner. Jab by Wilder.

Round 6: Fury with the check hook as Wilder attacks the body. Fury with a jab from distance. Right hook by Fury. Fury with a 1-2, but Wilder hits a counter right almost simultaneously. Defense has become secondary for both fighters. More having to step in and break up frequent clinches. Fury with a flurry, Wilder answers with a right down the middle. Fury hits a right hand to back Wilder to the ropes. Fury hits that uppercut. Wilder takes a knee, but Mora rules it was from Fury leaning on him in the clinch. Fury backs Wilder to the ropes. A grueling sixth round for both men.

Round 7: Fury scores with a 1-2. He’s staying in Wilder’s face now. There’s another 1-2 by Fury. Fury to the body now, he is using his size to just smother Wilder. He doubles up on a jab and gets Wilder to sidestep right into a hard right. Fury crushing the body with Wilder on the ropes. Right hand by the ear for Fury. He walks through a Wilder 1-2. Two big rights from Fury and Wilder wobbled into the ropes. Wilder has to clinch up to survive. Fury back on the attack.

Round 8: Fury tags the body. He’s showing spring in his step. Wilder just circling along the ropes, he eats another Fury right. Fury lands a right hand and an uppercut. Fury with a good right hand down the pipe. Wilder avoids a combo but absorbs a clean jab as he circles out. Fury with a 1-2 that lands. Fury’s jab is on the money. Right hand rocks Wilder, then another, he’s leaning on Fury. More right hands from Fury. Wilder is hanging in there and throwing back, but Fury sees the punches. Wilder lands to the body, but the follow-up misses big.

Round 9: Doctor comes in for a quick check on Wilder, but the action will continue. The broadcast team is questioning if there’s something wrong with Wilder’s right hand. He fires that right into Fury’s body. They trade jabs. Fury with jabs and a poke to the body. Right hand scores for Wilder. Fury backs Wilder up with a pair of accurate jabs. Left hook by Fury, Wilder answers with a jab. Fury landing his jab at will now, a brief flurry from Fury is stifled by a Wilder clinch. Mora letting them work in the clinch. Jab from Fury, Wilder still throwing that right. Fury with a left hook, then a right over the top. Fury with a crisp combo to the head and body. Wilder with an uppercut. Amazing round.

Round 10: Fury with another big right. He’s putting it on Wilder who can only land the occasional counter. It looks like Fury smells blood. Left lands for Fury. Fury just scoring with short punches as Wilder leans into him. Right hand smacks into the side of Wilder’s head and he drops to all fours He answers the count. Fury wants the finish. Straight right hand as Wilder leans back on the ropes. Fury punishing Wilder in the clinch. Wilder letting the right hand go. Fury cracks him with an uppercut. Wilder’s legs are gone, but he’s still throwing and lands a couple of good ones before the bell.

Round 11: Fury back to the jab. Mora still letting the clinching go. Right hand over the top by Fury. Fury smacks him with a jab. Wilder with slow counters. Right hand by Fury knocks Wilder for a loop, he slumps down to the mat. No count needed here, Mora calls it. Wilder is back up and makes it to his corner, but this one is a wrap.
