UFC 267 live blog: Alexander Volkov vs. Marcin Tybura

This is the UFC 267 live blog for Alexander Volkov vs. Marcin Tybura, a heavyweight main card bout on Saturday’s fight card at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

The fight pairs two top-10 heavyweight veterans who hope to stay in the title picture by removing the other one. Volkov, the No. 6 ranked heavyweight in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, is four months removed from an attempt to halt the now-interim champion Ciryl Gane after winning back-to-back fights in meetings against Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris. The former Bellator heavyweight king has proven adept at stopping those outside the top-10, and now he needs to stop the rise of another up-and-comer, No. 8 Tybura.

Tybura has won five straight in the heavyweight division, no small feat for the big guys in the octagon, but has done so against unranked competition. Most recently, he delivered a first-round stoppage of Harris, his most impressive performance on his current run.
