Caio Borralho is getting another chance at Dana White’s Contender Series, battling Jesse Murray on Oct. 19, multiple people with knowledge of the booking told MMA Fighting.
Borralho (9-1, 1 no contest) defeated Cage Fury FC middleweight champion Aaron Jeffrey via decision on Sept. 28, but wasn’t offered a contract with the UFC. Instead, he’s competing inside the octagon at DWCS a second time in a 21-day turnaround.
“The Natural”, listed one of the top 10 best Brazilian prospects to watch in 2021, is on a nine-fight unbeaten streak, winning the Future MMA title in the process.
Murray (8-3) is a two-time King of the Cage light heavyweight titleholder who makes the cut back to 185 pounds for the first time in six years.
Victorious in his past three, Murray scored half of his MMA wins via submission, including a first-round Ezekiel choke in 2019.
The Oct. 19 edition of DWCS also features Valesca Machado vs. Piera Rodriguez, Solomon Renfro vs. Jonny Parsons, and Armen Petrosyan vs. Kaloyan Kolev.
