UFC 267 cold open: ‘Polish Power’ on the line, Petr Yan ‘back to claim what’s his’

Apparently, there’s a new fight capital of the world, and it’s in the Middle East.

Set to Wolfmother’s “Joker And The Thief,” UFC 267’s cold open pits a “nasty Polish czar” in light heavyweight champ Jan Blachowicz against a “Brazilian finisher” in Glover Teixeria. It all takes place on Fight Island, and the Abu Dhabi destination gets Las Vegas’ longtime moniker by narrator Ron Perlman.

“Polish Power” is on the line Saturday at Etihad Arena, but the pay-per-view event opener also features an interim bantamweight title co-main featuring ex-champ Petr Yan and Cory Sandhagen. Yan, according to Perlman, is “back to claim what’s his – the bantamweight title.” Champ Aljamain Sterling is out of the picture for now.

And finally, a lightweight feature between Islam Makhachev – “the lightweight nobody wants to face” – and Dan Hooker gets a nod as UFC 267 is queued up for a 15-fight card in the desert.
