UFC Vegas 41 medical suspensions: Paulo Costa, Marvin Vettori potentially out 6 months after main event war

Paulo Costa and Marvin Vettori fought tooth-and-nail in this past Saturday’s main event and it could be a while before they step into the octagon again.

Vettori walked out with a unanimous decision win, but both he and Costa are facing potential six-month suspensions according to the official list of UFC Vegas 41 medical suspensions acquired by mixedmartialarts.com. The event was overseen by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

For Vettori, it’s both forearms and his right knee that were banged up in the fight, while Costa needs to have his right foot checked out. Should any of those areas test positive for injury, the fighters will require clearance from a physician or be suspended until April 22.

Five other fighters are facing potential six-months medical suspensions: Grant Dawson (rib), Francisco Trinaldo (left hand), Mason Jones (right knee), Jeff Molina (right ankle), and Zviad Lazishvili (right foot).

Joselyne Edwards: Suspended until Dec. 8, no contact until Nov. 23 — nasal laceration

Alex Caceres: Suspended until Nov. 14, no contact until Nov. 7 — lip laceration

Seung Woo Choi: Suspended until Dec. 8, no contact until Nov. 23

Francisco Trinaldo: Must have X-ray on left hand. If positive, must receive clearance from orthopedic doctor or no contest until April 22. Minimum suspension no contest until Nov. 23, no contact until Nov. 14

Dwight Grant: Suspended until Nov. 23, no contact until Nov. 14
