Thirty-eight fights into his UFC career, Jim Miller is still thrilling the fans.
Miller earned his 13th Performance of the Night bonus at UFC Vegas 40 on Saturday after scoring a spectacular second-round knockout of newcomer Erick Gonzalez. It was the first knockout for Miller since he finished Takanori Gomi with strikes at UFC 200 in July 2016.
No Fight of the Night bonus was awarded, leaving three more $50,000 bonuses to be handed out to Nate Landwehr, Bruno Silva, and Danaa Batgerel.
Landwehr picked the perfect time to record the first submission victory of his career as the slugger snagged a third-round anaconda choke against Ludovit Klein to open the main card.
On the preliminary portion of the lineup, Silva avoided a potentially sticky situation with the judges by finishing Andrew Sanchez with strikes in the third, while Danaa picked up his third knockout win in a row with a first-round finish of Brandon Davis.
