Gina Carano books new Western movie starring role alongside UFC fighter Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone

Gina Carano (EL, Showtime Sports)

Following her exodus from “The Mandalorian” over a series of controversial social media posts, Gina Carano has booked her second movie role after inking a starring and production deal with the conservative website The Daily Wire.

Carano had already been announced for a new film, tentatively titled “White Knuckle,” which is based on a book of the same name from writer Eric Red, who also wrote the cult classic horror film “The Hitcher.” That movie is still happening but filming has been pushed back until 2022.

Carano’s focus will now shift to a new project titled “Terror on the Prairie,” which is already in production with a release date expected in early 2022.

“Terror on the Prairie” is about a pioneering family that fights back against a gang of vicious outlaws that is terrorizing them on their newly built farm in the great plains of Montana. Carano will serve as the star of the project, which is also filming in Montana with Dallas Sonnier (“Bone Tomahawk”) serving as producer with Michael Polish (“Northfolk,” “The Astronaut Farmer”) directing the movie.

Among the co-stars in the film will be UFC veteran Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, who has dabbled in acting with a part in the recent Netflix hit “Spencer Confidential,” appearing alongside Mark Wahlberg.

“Terror on the Prairie” also features “Justified” star Nick Searcy, as well as Heath Freeman (“Skateland”), Samaire Armstrong (“The O.C.”), Travis Mills, Matthias Hues, Rhys Becker, Izzy Marshall, Jeremy Gauna and Thomas White Eagle.

This is the latest project for The Daily Wire after the conservative website announced its foray into the entertainment industry with the acquisition of action flick “Run Hide Fight.” The website then inked an overall deal with Carano after she was fired from her role on “The Mandalorian” after appearing in both seasons of the “Star Wars” spinoff series on Disney+.

The new film featuring Carano and Cerrone will be released exclusively to member of The Daily Wire website in spring 2022.
