Thomas Almeida. Sarah Alpar, Mike Rodriguez and Antonio Arroyo are no longer part of the UFC roster, multiple people with knowledge of the news told MMA Fighting. Combate first reported the release of Almeida and Arroyo.
Almeida (22-5) was seen as a bright 135-pound prospect when signed by the company in 2014 with a record of 17-0, and quickly scored our victories with four post-fight bonuses inside the octagon.
“Thominhas” stopped Albert Morales six months after his first career loss to Cody Garbrandt, but went on to lose four straight to Jimmie Rivera, Rob Font, Jonathan Martinez and Sean O’Malley.
Arroyo (9-5) joined the UFC after a couple of wins at Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018 and 2019, but went winless in three UFC appearances. Arroyo dropping decisions to Andre Muniz and Deron Winn before getting knocked out by Joaquin Buckley this past September.
Rodriguez (11-7, 1 no contest), another DWCS alum, only won two of eight UFC fights, and leaves the company on a three-fight skid versus Ed Herman, Danilo Marques and Tafon Nchukwi.
Alpar (9-6) made it to the UFC as the former LFA bantamweight champion, but lost to Jessica-Rose Clark and Erin Blanchfield inside the octagon. Alpar is also a DWCS veteran, where she tapped Shanna Young to earn a deal with the organization.
