The first month of January sees two UFC flyweight prospects meet in the octagon.

MMA Fighting confirmed with sources with knowledge of the matchup that Kay Hansen (7-4) and Jasmine Jasudavicius (6-1) will fight at the UFC’s Jan. 15 UFC event, with a location still to be determined.

The bout was first reported by MMA Island.

This marks Hansen’s return to the flyweight division. The 22-year-old previously competed at 115 pounds and 125 pounds for Invicta FC, but both of her UFC appearances have been at strawweight.

Hansen defeated former Invicta atomweight champion Jinh Yu Frey by third-round submission in her UFC debut, then dropped a unanimous decision to Cory McKenna last November. Hansen’s lone booking of 2021, a strawweight bout opposite Cheyanne Buys in March, was cancelled after Hansen withdrew for undisclosed reasons.

Canada’s Jasudavicius, 32, recently earned a contract with a unanimous decision win over Julia Polastri on the Contender Series in September. She has won two straight fights. Jasudavicius previously competed for Cage Fury Fighting Championships.
