Jake Paul is getting ready to fight Ben Askren by training with a UFC star who knows a thing or two about how to beat him.

On Thursday, Paul, a popular YouTube star, released a clip of himself working with “BMF” champion Jorge Masvidal in preparation for his boxing bout with Askren scheduled for April 17. This will be the pro boxing debut for the former Bellator and ONE Championship welterweight champion, while Paul has competed twice in boxing against fellow social media celebrity “AnEsonGib” and former NBA player Nate Robinson.

Paul called out several notable UFC fighters, including Conor McGregor, after scoring a viral KO of Robinson.

The short clip features Paul and Masvidal taking part in a boxing drill.

“He knocked out my opponent [Askren] in five seconds and now will help me do it in less time,” Paul wrote. “[Masvidal] is teaching me his secrets. April 17 the fight will last less than four seconds and then we coming for [Nate Diaz].”

Masvidal scored a memorable win over Askren at UFC 239 in July 2019, landing a flying knee that ended the fight in just five seconds, officially the fastest knockout in UFC history.

Shortly after the Paul-Askren boxing bout was announced Tuesday by Triller, Paul told ESPN that he is in Miami training with Masvidal.

“I wanted to channel Masvidal energy since he’s in Florida,” Paul said. “I wanted to link up with Masvidal.”

“He’s gonna help me train for this fight and hopefully I can knock Ben out faster than Masvidal did. I know it seems like a lofty goal, but if I can get under 4.9 seconds then I can break his record.”
