The flyweight title bout, previously announced for Feb. 24 in Singapore, will now go down on April 7, the company revealed Friday. The card will also feature the return of former UFC and Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez, taking on Iuri Lapicus.
According to the promotion, the card will air live on TNT in prime-time in the United States.
Moraes vs. Johnson is the longest anticipated battle of ONE flyweight beltholders. Brazil’s “Mikinho” (18-3) is the undisputed champion in the organization, and Johnson (30-3-1) gets his crack at the gold after winning the division’s tournament in 2019.
Alvarez (30-7, 1 no contest) scored his first victory under the ONE banner in August 2019, surviving a barrage of strikes before tapping Eduard Folayang with a rear-naked choke.
Lapicus (14-1) went unbeaten as a professional, including a pair of finishes in the Asian promotion, before challenging ONE lightweight champion Christian Lee this past October, losing via first-round stoppage.
The card will also include a clash between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Jacob Smith for the ONE flyweight muay thai gold.
