Lightweights Leonardo Santos and Grant Dawson will collide to see who continues unbeaten under the UFC banner when they fight on March 20, multiple people with knowledge of the booking told MMA Fighting following a report from MMA Junkie.
Santos (18-3-1) hasn’t been defeated since winning the second season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil in 2013, collecting seven wins and one draw in his eight UFC bouts.
The 40-year-old jiu-jitsu specialist returned from the longest layoff of his MMA career in June 2019, finishing Stevie Ray in the opening round, and then earned a decision against Roman Bogatov this past July in Abu Dhabi.
Dawson (16-1) tapped Adrian Diaz with a read-naked choke at Dana White’s Contender Series to join the UFC, going 4-0 under the bright lights of the UFC since 2019. In his most recent appearance, “KGD” won a decision over Nad Narimani in a 150-pound catchweight bout. This upcoming fight marks Dawson’s first scheduled bout at 155 pounds in the UFC.
