The UFC’s March 13 fight card has added a matchup between middleweight veterans.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Eryk Anders and Darren Stewart will square off at the event which currently does not have a location or venue. MMA Junkie was first to report the booking.
Anders recently had his two-fight winning streak snapped by Krzysztof Jotko via unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 8 in May. Prior to that, “Ya Boi” picked up a first-round finish of Vinicius Moreira and a decision win over Gerald Meerschaert. The former NCAA football national champion at the University of Alabama will enter the octagon for the 11th time.
Stewart also looks to get back to his winning ways after dropping a close decision to Kevin Holland at UFC Vegas 11 in September. “The Dentist” went 1-2 overall in 2020 with a first-round submission win over Maki Pitolo in a bounce back win after a decision loss to Bartosz Fabinski in March that took place at Cage Warriors 113.
The UFC’s March 13 event will be headlined by the highly anticipated welterweight matchup between Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev.
