Conor McGregor is still the prizefighting king of MMA.
“The Notorious” stands among some of the world’s most famous names on the 2020 edition of Forbes’ highest-paid celebrities list, coming in at No. 53. McGregor’s placement puts him just ahead of basketball stars James Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jennifer Lopez, and heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua. Notable names right above McGregor include “Judge Judy” Sheindlin, Drake, and Kim Kardashian West.
This ranking coincides with McGregor’s No. 16 placement on Forbes’ highest-paid athletes list that was released in May.
McGregor, 32, has only competed once this year, defeating Donald Cerrone by 48-second TKO at UFC 246 in January. According to his Forbes profile, he received a total payout of over $30 million for that appearance and his 2020 earnings add up to $48 million. Also included in McGregor’s value is his sponsorship deal with Reebok, estimated to be worth around $5 million a year.
Following reports of his Forbes ranking, McGregor took to Twitter to declare that he would have topped on the list were his profits from his Proper No. Twelve whiskey business disclosed.
Thanks guys, I’m also actually number 1.
