Vanessa Porto’s reign as the Invicta FC flyweight queen has come to an end as the Brazilian signed a deal with Bellator, the promotion announced following a report from ESPN.

Porto (22-8) claimed the belt with a technical decision victory over former UFC talent Pearl Gonzalez in Feb. 2019, defending it once against Karina Rodriguez in November. The longtime veteran has defeated the likes of Roxanne Modafferi, Germaine de Randamie, Tara LaRosa, Jennifer Maia and Tonya Evinger throughout her MMA career.

With the belt now vacant, Invicta FC has paired up Pearl Gonzalez and Erin Blanchfield for the 125-pound belt in the main event of Invicta FC 43 in Kansas City on Nov. 20.

Gonzalez (10-5) came back from her loss to Porto to defeat Brogan Walker-Sanchez four months later, dropping a decision to Miranda Maverick earlier this year.

Blanchfield (6-1) last fought in July, defeating Brogan Sanchez via unanimous decision. “Cold Blooded” has only lost once in her MMA career, a split decision to future UFC fighter Tracy Cortez in the Invicta FC cage, and won three in a row since.

Invicta FC 43 will be co-headlined by a strawweight championship bout between Emily Ducote and Montserrat Ruiz, the company announced. “Gordinha” Ducote recently outpointed Juliana Lima in July to earn another shot at the gold, while Ruiz submitted Janaisa Morandin weeks later.
