An injury has knocked Matt Frevola out of his upcoming fight against Roosevelt Roberts.
The UFC announced Friday that Frevola has been forced to withdraw from Saturday’s UFC Vegas 10 event at UFC APEX in Las Vegas. Kevin Croom replaces Frevola and faces Roberts in a lightweight bout on the preliminary portion of the card.
This is Croom’s second booking as a short-notice replacement for a UFC fight in the past two weeks. Croom (21-12) was originally set to replace Giga Chikadze and fight Alex Caceres at UFC Vegas 8, but he withdrew from that bout for undisclosed reasons and was himself replaced by Austin Springer. The 33-year-old Missouri native makes his UFC debut on a three-fight win streak.
Roberts (10-2) is coming off of a first-round submission loss to veteran Jim Miller. Prior to that setback, Roberts won four of his first five UFC fights.
UFC Vegas 10 will be headlined by a strawweight bout between Michelle Waterson and Angela Hill. The event airs on the ESPN+ streaming service.
