Jalin Turner will fight this month after all.
One week after his bout with Thiago Moises was canceled due to Moises testing positive for COVID-19, Turner is now stepping in as a short-notice replacement to fight Brok Weaver this Saturday at UFC Vegas 10. Turner replaces Frank Camacho, who told MMA Fighting that his withdrawal was due to a positive COVID-19 test.
MMA Fighting confirmed the new matchup with people with knowledge of the change following an initial report by BJPenn.com.
Turner (9-5) successfully weighed in at 155 pounds last Friday before his bout with Moises was canceled on fight day. He is coming off of a TKO-win over Joshua Culibao in February and has alternated wins and losses in four UFC appearances since appearing on Dana White’s Contender Series.
Weaver (15-5), who earned a Contender Series contract in August of last year, competes for the third time in 2020. He is 1-1 in the UFC so far with a disqualification win over Rodrigo Vargas in his UFC debut and a second-round submission loss to Roosevelt Roberts in his most recent outing this past May.
