Conor McGregor is getting married to his longtime girlfriend, Dee Devlin, he announced Saturday on Instagram.
McGregor posted a picture of he and Devlin – who sported a massive ring – with the caption, “What a birthday, my future wife!” Devlin’s 33rd birthday is on Sunday.
McGregor, 32, has two children with Devlin, Conor Jack McGregor Jr., who was born in May 2017, and Croia McGregor, born in January 2019.
The couple have been together since 2008, sharing McGregor’s meteoric rise from a plumbing apprentice and amateur fighter to the most famous MMA fighter around the world. McGregor has repeatedly cited Devlin as a huge reason for his success and calls her his “queen.” Devlin also plays a role in several of McGregor’s businesses.
McGregor was congratulated on the news by his longtime coach, John Kavanagh, and teammate, Dillon Dannis.
In June, McGregor announced his retirement for the third time in his career, thanking fans for their support. Few in the MMA industry expect the decision to stick, though the former two-division champ will not fight again this year, according to UFC President Dana White.
McGregor returned to the octagon in January after a year-plus layoff with a first-round stoppage win over Donald Cerrone. He called for a rematch with champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, who submitted him in 2018, and invited bouts with Jorge Masvidal and Anderson Silva. White opened the possibility he could face the winner of an upcoming title unifier between Nurmagomedov and interim champ Justin Gaethje, which will take place in October at UFC 254.
