Jordan Leavitt hopes to leave DWCS 27 with contract, less embarrassment about being pro fighter

Jordan Leavitt hopes to become the newest member of the UFC’s lightweight division on Tuesday night.

Leavitt will take on Jose Flores at Dana White’s Contender Series 27 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. “The Monkey King” and the DWCS second-timer will open up the season’s first event.

Ahead of the opportunity to punch his ticket to the UFC, Leavitt spoke with MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck about making a quick turnaround following a submission win at LFA 85 this past month, how he reacted to getting the call from his manager, why he feels Flores’ experience advantage won’t play a factor, why earning a contract will mean everything to him, and more.
