A pair of featherweight prospects will battle it out for their opportunity to earn a UFC contract next month.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Kyle Driscoll and Dinis Paiva will meet on Dana White’s Contender Series on Sept. 15. The event will take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas and will stream on ESPN+.

Driscoll enters the contest on an impressive six-fight winning streak, which includes victories in LFA and Combate Americas. In his most recent appearance, the American Kickboxing Academy standout picked up a unanimous decision win over 50-fight veteran Rey Trujillo at Combate 48: Garland. The 26-year-old hasn’t tasted defeat in over three years.

After a 3-5 start to his pro career, Paiva has won 10 of 12 and has become one of the top featherweights on the New England regional scene. “Sweetbread” enters the bout a winner of his last two, picking up a first-round TKO win over Antonio Castillo Jr. and Tim Dooling for CES MMA. The Rhode Island native has shared the cage with current UFC fighters Andre Ewell and Jordan Espinosa, whom he defeated via unanimous decision in January 2017.

The bout will join another featherweight contest slated for the card between Oron Kahlon and Collin Anglin.
