A high-profile fight in the lightweight division is currently in the works as Charles Oliveira is expected to face Beneil Dariush at the upcoming UFC event on Oct. 3.

Multiple sources confirmed verbal agreements are in place when speaking to MMA Fighting on Saturday. AgFight initially reported the matchup.

Oliveira has made a rapid rise up the 155-pound ranks with seven straight wins capped off by a third-round submission of Kevin Lee in March. The Brazilian has also finished all seven of those wins by knockout or submission.

On the other side of the octagon, Dariush brings an equally impressive finishing rate with five straight wins. Most recently, Dariush put away Scott Holtzman with a spinning backfist knockout as he continued his winning streak at lightweight.

Now, Dariush attempts to take a big step forward in the division with the upcoming fight against Oliveira.
