Two top-ranked strawweights will collide in the octagon on Sept. 26 as Claudia Gadelha and Yan Xiaonan agree to face off in a yet-to-be-announced UFC event in Las Vegas, sources told MMA Fighting following a report from Combate.
Gadelha (18-4) is coming off back-to-back decisions over Randa Markos and Angela Hill, improving to 7-4 inside the octagon. The former title contender holds UFC wins over the likes of Carla Esparza and Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
Xiaonan (12-1, 1 no-contest) racked up an impressive 5-0 record since joining the promotion in 2017, including wins over both Kowalkiewicz and Hill. The Chinese prospect hasn’t lost in almost a decade, winning 10 bouts in the interim.
