UFC ‘Fight Island’ poster released for Robert Whittaker vs. Darren Till

The final July trip to “Fight Island” sees a trio of former world champions in action.

Featured on the poster for the July 25 UFC event that was released this week are the headlining bout between Robert Whittaker and Darren Till, a trilogy bout between Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, and Fabricio Werdum’s encounter with heavyweight debutant Alexander Gustafsson.

Whittaker returns for the first time since losing the UFC middleweight title to Israel Adesanya nine months ago, while Till competes at 185 pounds in the UFC for just the second time. “The Gorilla” defeated Kelvin Gastelum by split decision at UFC 244.

In the co-main event, “Minotouru” faces his rival Rua for a third time in what is expected to be the last fight of Nogueira’s 19-year career.

Also on the main card, former UFC champion Werdum welcomes Gustafsson, a two-time light heavyweight title challenger, to the heavyweight division.
