A light heavyweight matchup is heading to Las Vegas next month.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Mike Rodriguez and Marcin Prachnio will square off at the UFC’s event on Aug. 22. The fight card will take place at the UFC APEX.

Rodriguez will look to pick up his second octagon victory after earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series with a highlight reel flying knee knockout over Jamelle Jones. After dropping his promotional debut to Devin Clark, the Massachusetts native finished Adam Milstead in the first round at UFC on FOX 31. In his most recent appearance, Rodriguez was finished by Da Un Jung at December’s UFC Busan event.

Prachnio signed with the UFC in 2018 after a 4-0 run in ONE Championship. The 32-year-old returns to action for the first time in nearly two years as he looks to pick up that elusive first octagon victory. The Polish 205er was finished in his first two promotional appearances by Sam Alvey and Magomed Ankalaev.

The UFC’s Aug. 22 event currently doesn’t have an official headliner but will feature a middleweight bout between Yoel Romero and Uriah Hall, as well as a strawweight contest between Michelle Waterson and Angela Hill.
