Just 10 days after making his octagon debut at UFC on ESPN 13, Khamzat Chimaev has another fight.
Chimaev will make a quick turnaround when he meets Rhys McKee at UFC on ESPN 14 in a welterweight bout this Saturday in Abu Dhabi. The booking was first reported by ESPN and officially announced on last night’s UFC Fight Island 2 broadcast.
It was UFC President Dana White who initially mentioned that the 26-year-old Swede could be getting another fight soon after he decimated John Phillips this past Wednesday in a middleweight contest. Chimaev used his wrestling to initiate a non-stop assault on Phillips before finishing with a D’Arce choke in round two.
Chimaev (7-0) is a member of the Allstars Training Center in Sweden and has previously fought for Bahrain’s Brave Combat Federation promotion.
McKee (10-2-1) is coming off of a run of three straight finishes in the Cage Warriors promotion. In the 24-year-old’s most recent outing this past November, he defeated Hakon Foss by knockout in 63 seconds.
