This is the UFC Fight Island 2 live blog for Kelvin Gastelum vs. Jack Hermansson, the middleweight co-headliner for Saturday’s fight card on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.

Both fighters hope to rebound after recent setbacks, with one-time interim title challenger Gastelum on a two-fight skid and Hermansson suffering a TKO loss to Jared Cannonier in his previous outing.

Round 1: Hermansson lets loose a few kicks as Gastelum advances. Probing attacks from the one-time title challenger net more kicks, and his first big punch gets a takedown attempt. But Gastelum reverses on the way down, and now he’s on top. Hermansson tries to grab an ankle as Gastelum stands, but he’s soon on bottom again as Gastelum returns to guard. Hermansson grabs again for the ankle, and suddenly, Gastelum looks like he’s in big trouble. Gastelum hits the deck, and he taps out as Hermansson cranks. Amazing submission finish from Hermansson.
