The UFC’s September slate continues to fill up with the addition of a women’s bantamweight bout.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a matchup between Jessica-Rose Clark and Sarah Alpar will take place at the UFC’s event on Sept. 26. The fight card is expected to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
Clark will look to get back to her winning ways after dropping consecutive decisions to Jessica Eye and Pannie Kianzad. Prior to that, “Jessy Jess” had put together a three-fight winning streak, which includes victories over Bec Rawlings and Paige VanZant. The 32-year-old is set to make her fifth promotional appearance.
Alpar makes her octagon debut after earning a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series this past August. “Too Sweet,” a former LFA bantamweight champion, submitted Shanna Young in the second-round which impressed White, along with matchmakers Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard. Alpar enters the contest on a three-fight winning streak, and victorious in five out of six.
A strawweight bout between Claudia Gadelha and Xiaonan Yan is the only other fight currently confirmed for the Sept. 26 event.
