Roosevelt Roberts will get a quick turnaround after the most impressive performance of his UFC career when he takes on wily veteran Jim Miller.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Miller and Roberts will square off in a lightweight bout at the UFC’s event scheduled for June 20. The fight card takes place at UFC APEX in Las Vegas and is expected to air on ESPN+. MMA Junkie was first to report the booking.
Miller looks to get back to his winning ways in his 47th pro bout. “A-10” had a two-fight winning streak snapped in February when he dropped a unanimous decision to Scott Holtzman at UFC Rio Rancho. The 36-year-old went undefeated in 2019, picking up submission wins over Jason Gonzalez and Clay Guida.
Roberts competed this past month at UFC on ESPN 9, finishing Brok Weaver via second-round submission. “GoGetta,” a winner of two straight, bounced back from his lone professional loss to Vinc Pichel with a unanimous decision win over Alexander Yakovlev at UFC Moscow this past November.
The UFC’s June 20 event is headlined by a pivotal heavyweight matchup between Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov.
