Mickey Gall vs. Mike Perry targeted for June 27 UFC event

Mickey Gall is getting the fight he wants later on this month.

A person with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Gall will take on Mike Perry at the UFC’s event on June 27 following an initial report from ESPN. Currently, there hasn’t been a location revealed, but the card is expected to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

After winning his first three promotional fights via submission, Gall has flip-flopped wins and losses. The New Jersey native is coming off a unanimous decision win over Salim Touahri at UFC Newark this past August.

While appearing on MMA Fighting’s What the Heck, the 28-year-old said that he hoped to get paired up with Perry.

“[Mike] Perry would be a good one,” Gall said. “I’ve got a feeling that we’re going to be doing that one within the next year, maybe even sooner.”

Perry will be looking to get back in the win column after suffering back-to-back losses to Vicente Luque and Geoff Neal to end his 2019 campaign. “Platinum” started the year with a unanimous decision win over Alex Oliveira, and will be looking for his first finish in the octagon since knocking out Alex Reyes in September 2017.

The 28-year-old took to Twitter on Sunday to confirm the matchup, and also provide some harsh words towards his opponent.

The UFC’s June 27 event is expected to be headlined by a lightweight matchup between Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker, although the promotion has yet to officially announce the matchup.
