Anthony Ivy will still make his UFC debut, he’ll just have to wait one more week.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Ivy will take on fellow promotional debutante Christian Aguilera at the UFC’s event on June 13. The event is expected to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

Sherdog was the first to report the booking.

Ivy, who was slated to replace Ian Heinisch against Gerald Meerschaert at UFC 250 before it was revealed the former’s coach had a false positive test for COVID-19, enters the bout on an impressive five-fight winning streak, all finishes, dating back to March 2018. “Aquaman” captured the Fury FC welterweight title in September 2018 and successfully defended it on two separate occasions. The San Antonio native also holds victories in RFA, LFA, and WXC.

Following the fight with Meerschaert getting switched back to its original booking against Heinisch, Ivy remained under UFC contract.

Aguilera makes his promotional debut with some momentum in his own right. “The Beast” has won his last two fights—and five out of seven—including a unanimous decision victory in his last appearance at January’s LFA 81 event.

The UFC’s June 13 fight card will be headlined by women’s flyweight bout between Jessica Eye and Cynthia Calvillo.
