Ian Heinisch out of UFC 250, Gerald Meerschaert awaits new opponent

A change has been made to the UFC 250 card with Ian Heinisch being forced out of his middleweight fight against Gerald Meerschaert.

Multiple sources confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Thursday. The reason behind Heinisch’s withdrawal has not been revealed at this time.

As for Meerschaert, the search is underway for a new opponent, with the UFC hopeful a replacement can be secured in time for Saturday night’s card.

UFC 250 takes place at the UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas without a crowd in attendance, per the COVID-19 protocols required by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
