Livia Renata Souza vs. Ashley Yoder on tap for UFC event on Aug. 15

A women’s strawweight fight between Livia Renata Souza and Ashley Yoder is targeted for an event this summer.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that the bout will take place at the UFC’s event on Aug. 15. As of now, there is no confirmed location for the event.

Combate was first to report the booking.

Souza will look to get back to her winning ways following a unanimous decision loss to Brianna Van Buren at UFC Sacramento this past July. “The Brazilian Gangsta” won her first two promotional bouts, picking up a first-round submission over Alex Chambers in September 2018, and a decision win over Sarah Frota in February 2019.

Yoder had her own winning streak snapped in her last appearance—a split decision loss to Randa Markos at UFC Singapore in October. “The Spider Monkey” dropped her first three fights in the promotion but was able to bounce back with a split decision win over Amanda Bobby Cooper and, in her best UFC performance, a one-sided unanimous decision win over Syuri Kondo.

Originally, the Aug. 15 event was scheduled to take place in Dublin, Ireland before it was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns.
