An unforeseen injury was detected while getting my final medicals done for my ufc debut. As a result I was not cleared for my fight this Saturday. It will be about 6-8 weeks hopefully before I will be cleared to fight. Thank you to the @ufc for working with me and my family, friends and team for being there as I felt lost, failed, and afraid. Dreams can encompass our lives. I know mine has. Swallowing up my passion, my effort, my time. But then with no notice, our dreams - even our sense of reality - can be ripped away in the blink of an eye. I truly believe God has a plan even if we don't like it. I'll be back better and stronger than before, my timing just wasn't His timing.
As for Borella, a search is underway to attempt to find a replacement to face the Italian flyweight on short notice. At the time of this writing, no opponent has been secured.
UFC on ESPN 12 is headlined by a lightweight showdown between former interim champion Dustin Poirier and top-five ranked contender Dan Hooker.
