Vicente Luque vs. Randy Brown set for Aug. 1 UFC event

Welterweight standouts Vicente Luque and Randy Brown are set to meet at a UFC event scheduled for Aug. 1.

MMA Fighting confirmed the news with multiple people with knowledge of the booking after Brown reported it on his Twitch account (hat tip to Twitter user Marcel Dorff).

Both fighters are looking to build on recent wins. Luque most recently stopped Niko Price in via third-round TKO at UFC 249, getting back on the right foot after a decision loss to two-time welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson sapped a six-fight winning streak.

Brown, meanwhile, has picked up two consecutive wins after Price knocked him out with hammerfists from his back in a 2018 meeting. The “Looking for a Fight” veteran has stopped Bryan Barbarena and Warlley Alves in successive appearances, winning a “Performance of the Night” bonus for the latter.

The Aug. 1 event is expected to be headlined by a bantamweight fight between ex-champ Holly Holm and Irene Aldana.
