EA’s UFC 4 video game might just feature a world heavyweight champion from the boxing world.
The new game is expected to be released later on this year and will feature various fighters from the UFC roster. It will be the first release from EA and the UFC since February 2018. Conor McGregor was featured on the most recent cover.
Reports have surfaced via Brian Mazique of Forbes that not only will some of the best MMA fighters on the planet be playable characters, but reigning WBC heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury will also be part of the game.
At the UFC on ESPN 11 post-fight press conference, Dana White was asked about the report of Fury being added, as well as fellow boxer Deontay Wilder.
“What? Where are you hearing this sh*t,” White asked. “Tyson Fury might be.
“Aren’t we doing this in Abu Dhabi? Why are you asking me these questions now? Because I might tell you?”
With the UFC heading to “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi next month, White was asked whether the official announcement for EA UFC 4 will take place during that time ahead of UFC 251 July 11.
“The boss says yes,” White said.
With McGregor covering the last two releases, the question remains who will grace the cover of EA and the UFC’s latest release. Manager Ali Abdelaziz gave a couple of hints on Saturday by tweeting his unhappiness with client and current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov not being the choice.
