Mara Romero Borella vs. Miranda Maverick added to UFC on ESPN 12 on June 27

Invicta FC

A late addition to the UFC on ESPN 12 card has been made as Mara Romero Borella will take on former Invicta FC standout Miranda Maverick in a flyweight fight on June 27.

Multiple sources confirmed the matchup to MMA Fighting following an initial report from MMA DNA.

Borella will be making her seventh appearance in the UFC as she looks to stop a recent three-fight losing streak inside the octagon. After picking up a win over Talia Santos in Feb. 2019, Borella dropped three straight fights against Lauren Murphy, Montana De La Rosa and Cortney Casey.

Now the Italian fighter, who trains out of American Top Team in Florida, will look to get back in the win column against a top prospect joining the UFC roster for the first time.

Maverick will make her debut after three straight wins under the Invicta FC banner, which includes victories over UFC veterans DeAnna Bennett and Pearl Gonzalez.

Following her latest win it appeared Maverick was in line for a title shot but instead she’ll get the call up to the UFC where she will face Borella at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

The UFC on ESPN 12 card will be headlined by a lightweight fight between former interim champion Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker.
