Bantamweights Ketlen Vieira and Yana Kunitskaya have agreed to meet on the UFC’s upcoming card on Aug. 1 with the event taking place in the United States.
Multiple sources confirmed the news to MMA Fighting with both fighters agreeing to the matchup. MMA Junkie initially reported the matchup.
Vieira will look to bounce back from the first loss of her career after she suffered a knockout in her most recent fight against Irene Aldana. The Brazilian was a perfect 10-0 prior to that setback including wins over Cat Zingano and Sara McMann in the UFC.
Meanwhile, Kunitskaya will fight for the first time since falling to Aspen Ladd in December 2019. That loss snapped Kunitskaya’s two fight win streak after she earned unanimous decision wins against both Marion Reneau and Lina Lansberg.
Vieira vs. Kunitskaya is the latest addition to the UFC card on Aug. 1 with another bantamweight showdown between former champion Holly Holm and Aldana headlining the event.
