Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker are set to face off at UFC APEX.
UFC President Dana White announced Friday on ESPN that the lightweight sluggers will headline the UFC on ESPN 12 scheduled to take place on June 27 in Las Vegas. Poirier and Hooker were reportedly supposed to fight on May 16 in San Diego before that card was canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Now, Poirier (25-6, 1 NC) returns to action for the first time since a failed bid to win unify his interim lightweight title with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s undisputed title last September, while Hooker (20-8) looks to pick up his fourth straight win after earning a split nod over Paul Felder in February.
Also confirmed for the June 27 card is a welterweight co-main event between Mickey Gall (6-2) and Mike Perry (13-6), as well as main card bouts between middleweights Ian Heinisch (14-3) and Brendan Allen (14-3), heavyweights Gian Villante (17-11) and Maurice Greene (8-4), and bantamweights Aspen Ladd (9-1) and Sara McMann (12-5).
