Jon Jones calls Dana White ‘a f**king liar,’ asks for UFC release if his reputation ‘causes you to undervalue me this much’

Jon Jones is fed up with accusations made about his financial demands for a heavyweight fight against Francis Ngannou.

On Friday, UFC president Dana White claimed the 205-pound champion was asking for money comparable to that which boxer Deontay Wilder received for his recent rematch against Tyson Fury in order for Jones to move to heavyweight and face Ngannou.

That fight paid Wilder $5 million in disclosed salary with his actually payday reportedly reaching closer to $30 million.

After hearing White’s comments, Jones exploded with a series of messages refuting those claims and requesting that the UFC president release the text messages he exchanged with UFC chief business officer, Hunter Campbell.

“If you’re going to stick to these lies, I’m going to stick to defending myself,” Jones wrote on Twitter. “Please have your lawyer Hunter Campbell release those text messages.

“Don’t be a f**king liar. My reputation has already taken enough hits. I don’t need this bullsh*t, Dana. I never asked for Deontay Wilder’s numbers. And how about since Deontay is making $30 million, we settle for half of that. Since you said I’m the GOAT and everything.”

Jones also took aim at White after he touted the paydays earned by the UFC light heavyweight champion during his career despite a multitude of problems outside the cage.

“The guy’s made a lot of money,” White said. “If you look at Jon Jones’ track record, show me somebody that has the track record that this guy has and has made the money that Jon Jones has made. It doesn’t happen.”

Jones definitely took exception that that classification, but offered White and the UFC a simple solution they do in fact view him as a problem child.

“I don’t even make half of half of what Deontay Wilder makes,” Jones said. “If my reputation causes you to undervalue me this much, just go ahead and release my from my UFC contract all together. I’m sure some promoter somewhere will be more than happy to pick me up.

“And if I wanted to compare money to someone else, I would compare money to my brothers. I see firsthand the way the NFL treats their champion athletes. There’s a huge difference. I’ve kept my mouth shut my entire career.”

Jones’ younger brother Chandler Jones is currently in the middle of a five-year deal he inked with the Arizona Cardinals in 2017 worth $82.5 million.

While he’s not disputing that he makes good money for his fights, Jones refuses to believe a showdown with Ngannou at heavyweight shouldn’t be worth a bigger payday — even if he says a specific number was never discussed.

“Do I make [$5+ million] per fight, yes. Should I stick to that number for my superfights? No,” Jones wrote. “If you don’t agree with me, you just don’t know business. I certainly didn’t ask for [$30 million], never even threw out a number.”
