Featherweight prospect Nate Landwehr will get another chance at scoring his first UFC victory when he meets Darren Elkins at the upcoming UFC show on May 16. Both fighters confirmed on social media following a report by MMAjunkie.
Elkins (24-8) returns to the octagon 10 months after his last bout, a decision loss to Ryan Hall. “The Damage” aims to snap a three-fight losing skid that includes a TKO stoppage to Ricardo Lamas and a decision versus future champion Alexander Volkanovski.
The experienced featherweight, who turns 36 the day of the bout, was riding an impressive six-fight winning streak prior to his recent run.
Landwehr (13-3) is a former M-1 Global titleholder who signed with the UFC after winning five in a row in Russia and Kazakhstan. In his octagon debut earlier this year, however, “The Train” lost via first-round knockout to fellow UFC newcomer Herbert Burns.
