UFC 248 final salaries: Israel Adesanya, Yoel Romero top event

Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya was the top disclosed earner when checks were cut after UFC 248.

Adesanya’s guaranteed $500,000 purse topped the list of final salaries released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which regulated this past Saturday’s pay-per-view event at T-Mobile Arena.

While they didn’t win over the crowd with a tactical five-round fight, Adesanya and Romero could bank even bigger payouts when discretionary bonuses are added.

The total disclosed payroll for the event was $2,086,000.

As always, these figures do not represent a fighter’s total earnings, as certain sponsorship incomes, pay-per-view earnings or discretionary post-fight bonuses are not publicly disclosed.

Here are the final payouts for UFC 248:

Israel Adesanya ($500,000 + no win bonus = $500,000) def. Yoel Romero ($350,000)

Zhang Weili ($100,000 + $100,000 = $200,000) def. Joanna Jedrzejczyk ($106,000)

Beneil Dariush ($70,000 + $70,000 win bonus = $140,000) def. Drakkar Klose ($40,000)

Neil Magny ($76,000 + $76,000 win bonus = $152,000) def. Li Jingliang ($64,000)

Alex Oliveira ($64,000 + $64,000 win bonus = $128,000) def. Max Griffin ($35,000)

Sean O’Malley ($35,000 + $35,000 win bonus = $70,000) def. Jose Quinonez ($33,000)

Mark Madsen ($33,000 + $33,000 win bonus = $66,000) def. Austin Hubbard ($12,000)

Rodolfo Vieira ($14,000 + $14,000 win bonus = $28,000) def. Saparbek Safarov ($22,000)

Gerald Meerschaert ($30,000 + $30,000 win bonus = $60,000) def. Deron Winn ($12,000)

Giga Chikadze ($12,000 + $12,000 win bonus = $24,000) def. Jamall Emmers ($10,000)
