Michael Chandler vs. Benson Henderson 2 rebooked for Bellator event on June 6

Former lightweight champion Michael Chandler will meet Benson Henderson for a second time at an upcoming Bellator MMA event on June 6 from Chicago.

Bellator announced the matchup during a special spring and summer press conference on Monday.

The rematch between Chandler and Henderson was previously booked this past December when Bellator went to Japan but the fight was scrapped in the weeks leading up to the event. At the time, Henderson suffered an injury and Chandler moved on to knockout lightweight prospect Sidney Outlaw, who stepped into the fight on short notice.

Now Chandler will return in June to face Henderson for a second time after their first fight in 2016 ended in a split decision.

Chandler got the nod that night as he defended his Bellator lightweight title and he’ll look to make it two in a row against the former UFC champion when they meet again later this year.

As for Henderson, he’s currently riding a four-fight win streak including victories over UFC veteran Myles Jury as well as Roger Huerta.

Chandler vs. Henderson 2 will be joined by a Bellator Featherweight Grand Prix matchup between A.J. McKee and former bantamweight champion Darrion Caldwell.
