Tai Tuivasa has himself another home date.
The UFC announced Friday that “Bam Bam” will meet Jarjis Danho in a heavyweight bout at UFC 251, which takes place at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, on June 6 (June 7 local time).
This will be Tuivasa’s fifth time fighting in Australia for the UFC. The 26-year-old Sydney native is currently on a three-fight losing streak after beginning his career 9-0, dropping consecutive fights to Serghei Spivac, Blagoy Ivanov, and Junior dos Santos.
Danho, 36, is competing for the first time since Sept. 3, 2016. “Man Mountain” is winless in two previous UFC appearances, first losing a majority decision to Daniel Omielanczuk and then battling Christian Colombo to a majority draw in his most recent outing. He was scheduled to fight Greg Hardy last October, but withdrew for undisclosed reasons. Danho’s pro record sits at 5-1-1 (1 NC).
A flyweight title bout between champion Valentina Shevchenko and challenger Joanne Calderwood has also been announced for the event.
