The UFC is starting to build its second card in Saskatoon, a Fight Night show slated for June 20 in Canada, with a pair of preliminary bouts featuring Gillian Robertson vs. Taila Santos and Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Oskar Piechota, the local outlet Star Phoenix reported.
Canadians Robertson (7-4) and Barriault (11-4) are looking to get back on track in the UFC. The flyweight had her two-fight winning streak snapped by Maycee Barber in October, while Barriault is in desperate need of a win after going winless in his first three Octagon appearances.
Robertson will trade hands with Brazilian flyweight Taila Santos (15-1), who inked a deal with the promotion after a Contender Series win over Estefani Almeida in 2018 but lost a split decision to Mara Romero Borella in February 2019. A wrist injury prevented her for facing Ariane Carnelossi at UFC Uruguay last August.
Like Barriault, Oskar Piechota (11-3-1) is on a three-fight UFC skid with stoppage defeats to Gerald Meerschaert, Rodolfo Vieira and Punahele Soriano. The former Cage Warriors middleweight champion was victorious in his first 11 professional bouts, including a 2-0 start in the UFC over Jonathan Wilson and Tim Williams.
