As one would expect, Israel Adesanya is having fun at Jon Jones’ expense.
Following news of Jones’ arrest on multiple charges — including DWI and negligent use of a firearm — early Thursday morning in Albuquerque, NM, multiple fighters on the UFC roster reacted to the situation. Jones has compiled a series of rivals over the years, and one of the latest to engage in a war of words over the last several months has been Adesanya.
On Thursday night, the UFC middleweight champion took to social media and began celebrating Jones’ latest downfall.

After he captured the interim middleweight title against Kelvin Gastelum 11 months ago at UFC 236, Adesanya predicted that Jones would find himself in trouble once again. Fans reminded “The Last Stylebender” of that projection on Thursday.
Adesanya certainly didn’t forget.

Around two hours later, Adesanya continued to take shots at Jones — this time, using memes and videos. Last week, Jones posted a graphic to social media in regards to the recommended quarantines during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The 185-pound champion wasn’t ready to let Jones forget about it.

“...and on the 7th day got arrested. I mean God Rested,” Adesanya’s response read.
And the memes kept coming from Adesanya towards Jones.

Jones and Adesanya have been linked to each other since last year, with both expressing interest in a future matchup. The 30-year-old Adesanya has stated on multiple occasions he would jump up to 205-pounds for a fight with Jones, but after he takes care of business in the middleweight division.
As far as Jones’ Octagon future is concerned, that remains up in the air. In a statement to MMA Fighting on Thursday, the UFC is “aware of the situation regarding Jon Jones” and are “gathering information.” There’s no word on whether or not Jones will be stripped of his title.
Jones is scheduled to be back in court for a bond arraignment hearing April 8.
